October 10 is the Citizens’ Day in Guri City and the events for “Citizens’ Day” are held on the riverside of Hangang River.
In the events of the Citizens’ Day, the ceremony begins with the entry of 8 dongs with their respective features.
Following the ceremony, the players take the oath for fair play to begin the sporting event.
The sporting event is a competition in each dong and the representatives for each dong display their skills before the audiences.
The events are made up in non-specialized ones to have the harmony of residents in Breaking Gourd, Tug-of-War, Piling up Pagoda, Group Rope Jumping, Folk Ssireum, Relay Racing and the like.
In the meantime, there are other experimental events, such as Hot-air Balloon, Bunji Jump, Basketball King, Impromptu Picture Taking and others for the fun of visitors and participants.
